This piece was created from a new cello donated by the Modesto Symphony for a fundraiser in 2006. 75 artists were chosen and given a cello to do whatever they wanted to it. My inspiration came when looking at the cello upside down. I cut off extremities and reworked them into the form. I learned how to use a professional spray gun after many sandings and attached horns made from clay and fired to cone 6. The title Long May You Run was given as a blessing to the Modesto Symphony and the new owner of the piece, once it was auctioned off at the fundraiser. |
